Newly Elected Fellows
In The Field
The Kolb Foundation and the Kolb Society of Fellows, founded through a bequest by Katherine Kolb Paanakker, is committed to graduate education in academic disciplines concerned with the cultures of ancient pre-industrial and modern non-industrial peoples of the world, with a particular focus on archaeology.
Each year the Kolb Society of Fellows sponsors a fall and spring colloquium. The fall colloquium is accompanied by a dinner for the fellows. The late Peter Paanakker, the principal benefactor of the Kolb Society, is pictured here attending the dinner in 1998.
Dr. Robert H. Dyson, Jr., Emeritus Fellow, founding President of the Kolb Society of Fellows was instrumental in conceptualizing and organizing the Kolb Society. He is pictured here holding aloft a golden bowl from the site of Hasanlu, Iran in 1958.
The Kolb Society of Fellows is a non-profit organization providing fellowships for studies in academic disciplines related to the mission of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
A number of Kolb fellows will be participating in the upcoming American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR) Annual Meeting, which will be held in San Diego, California, from November 19–22, 2014.
